Plain language. No legalese tricks. Last updated 25 June 2026.
The Wall (anonymous posts).
- We never ask your name, email, age, or location. Posting is account-free.
- What we store: the text you wrote, the moment you wrote it, a random token (so you can return for a reply), and the “me too” count. That’s it.
- What we do not store: your IP address, your device fingerprint, cookies tied to your identity, your name, your email, your phone number.
- What others see: only the text and the “me too” count. Nothing else.
- How long it stays: posts stay on the Wall indefinitely, because they are the proof that you’re not alone. You can ask us to remove yours at any time (see below).
Moderation & safety.
- Every submission is scanned for language indicating crisis or self-harm. If matched, the post is not published, you are shown the crisis page immediately, and the post is flagged for our team to review.
- We may remove posts that are not the writer’s own words (e.g. quoted threats against another person), contain personally identifying information about someone other than the writer, or violate the Terms.
- Moderation is performed by the MannMatters team. We do not share moderation queues with third parties.
Age.
MannMatters is designed for teens (roughly 13 and up). We can’t verify age without breaking anonymity, so we don’t try — but if a post indicates the writer is younger, our reviewers will (a) hold the post from the Wall, (b) surface age-appropriate child-protection resources, and (c) suggest involving a trusted adult. We never publicly identify the writer.
Analytics & cookies.
We use the bare minimum: privacy-first, aggregated analytics from our hosting provider (Vercel). No ad tracking, no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no third-party cookies.
Removing your post.
Because we don’t know who wrote what, removal requests need either (a) the random token we gave you at the moment you posted (saved in your browser), or (b) a quote of the exact text. We’ll act within 7 days.
